U of A Nursing Student Among Winners of Regional Scholarship

Winners of this year's Northwest Arkansas Nursing Education Consortium are, from left, Aaron Barchenger of Northwest Technical Institute, Casey Word of the University of Arkansas and Arthur Eugene Raff of NorthWest Arkansas Community College.

Casey Word, a senior in the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing at the University of Arkansas, was one of three students to receive a scholarship from the Northwest Arkansas Nursing Education Consortium.

Word is scheduled to graduate in December.

The consortium was founded in 1999 to support nursing education through scholarships and collaborative nursing education efforts. Its goal is to ensure the health-care needs of Northwest Arkansas are met by offering the highest standards of nursing education. Members are the University of Arkansas, John Brown University, NorthWest Arkansas Community College and Northwest Technical Institute.
