University of Arkansas Air Force ROTC Cadet John William Taylor is the first recipient of the Detachment 030 scholarship. A committee comprised of Detachment 030 alumni awarded Cadet Taylor the $100 scholarship. He is a political science major on track to graduate in 2018.

"Taylor performs very well scholastically and is an asset to the ROTC program," said Lt. Col. Marc E. Wolfe, detachment commander. "I look forward to seeing what he does in the next two years of his ROTC career."

"He is always willing to take on extra tasks and assume leadership when the team needs him," said Capt. Clayton Sharum, detachment operations flight commander.

The detachment's scholarship was created to help with the retention of solid performers within the AFROTC program.
