Bumpers College Students, Others Invited to Thursday's Carnival of Clubs Networking Event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Students in the U of A's Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences can learn more about opportunities to get involved in areas of interest at the college's annual Carnival of Clubs.

The preview and networking event, hosted by the college's student ambassadors, is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, on the Maudine Sanders Student Plaza and Garden and Hawkins Family Terrace at the south end of the AFLS Building.

A few of the clubs and registered student organizations participating in last year's event included Ag Mech; Block and Bridle; Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences; Poultry Science; Food Science; Hospitality and Restaurant Management; Student Sustainability; HORT; and Agricultural Business clubs.  

Other groups represented or offering opportunities include Sigma Alpha (professional agricultural sorority for women), Collegiate FFA, Collegiate Farm Bureau, Meats Quiz Bowl, Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, Student Dietetic Association, Alpha Gamma Rho (social fraternity for men in agriculture), the Bumpers College International Programs Office, the Bumpers College Honors Student Board, Entomology Club, Apparel Studies Student Association, Turf Club, American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and the Pre-Vet Club.

A free barbeque meal will be served, and activities will include chicken bowling, a bag toss, and quizzes and trivia with prizes awarded.
