FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Alumni Association will kick off its newest membership drive on Sept. 15 with a free concert featuring the Commodores, Grammy award-winning artists who are known for hits such as “Brick House,” "Easy," and "Three Times a Lady."  The concert is being held in conjunction with the Campaign Arkansas launch weekend, and the entire campus, all alumni and the public are invited to attend.

O’Dell, who is a student in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, wrote an original song for the campaign and will perform it live for the first time that evening.

The Arkansas Alumni Association’s membership drive, Arkansas Everywhere, is meant to encourage its vast network of alumni and friends to join the association or renew their membership. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends can all join the alumni association through either an annual or life membership. Five dollars of every annual membership and $50 of every life membership is dedicated to need-based scholarships.

“We have a network of over 140,000 alumni and friends all over the globe,” said Brandy Cox, associate vice chancellor and executive director of the alumni association. “We know they are proud to be connected with the University of Arkansas, and we’re encouraging them to join or renew to demonstrate their pride.”

Alumni are also invited to share why they love being U of A grads through photos and videos both before and after the event. To participate, tag the Arkansas Alumni Association in social media posts and use the hashtag #ArkansasEverywhere.
