Seminar Participants to Learn 'The ONE Thing' Needed to Increase Productivity

ROGERS, Ark. – Online registration is open for “The ONE Thing” seminar offered twice this fall by the University of Arkansas Global Campus in Rogers, in partnership with Optimus Training & Development.

The seminar is based on the best selling book “The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results,” written by Gary Keller. The book, which won 12 awards and has been translated into 26 languages, focuses on helping people concentrate their energy on one thing at a time to be successful in their personal and work lives.

The seminar is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, and again on Friday, Dec. 9, at the Global Campus, Suite 402, 3300 Market St., Rogers. Participants can register online for either session, and the cost is $99. U of A faculty, staff and students get a 10 percent discount. Group discounts are also available.

“In today’s fast-paced world, many people are struggling to balance their personal and professional lives,” said Tara Dryer, the Global Campus director of training, corporate development and academic outreach. “This training will help each participant to identify what is most important to them and the simple ways they can focus their energies to be most productive and successful.”

People lose 28 percent of each day to non-productive activity, but this seminar can help them gain that time back, according to Optimus Training & Development. Mel Reed, a certified ONE Thing trainer and chief executive officer of Optimus Training & Development, will teach the class.

Learning objectives are to:

  • Combat the six lies that destroy productivity and derail results
  • Implement the ultimate “Success Habit” into your efforts
  • Thwart the four thieves that hold you back from extraordinary results
  • Accomplish your goals by “Goal Setting to the Now”
  • Constantly drill down to “The ONE Thing” you can do right now that will make everything else easier or unnecessary.
