FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – These are the final days of the active U of A United Way campaign. It wraps up on Oct. 31. At last count the campaign has raised $102,425.08, or 60 percent of the $170,000 goal.

The ultimate goal, of course, is to help the more than 27,000 children living in poverty in Northwest Arkansas: to Paint Their Future Bright – Child by Child.

There are still many opportunities for you to make a last minute contribution.

  • Tasty: volunteers from Walton College are holding a bake sale starting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, with all proceeds going to the campaign.
  • Thrilling: the staff at Global Campus are hosting a Fun House from 3-5 p.m. on Halloween as part of Fayetteville’s annual ‘Trick-or-Treat on the Square.’ Again, every dollar raised will go to the U of A United Way campaign.
  • Traditional: use your donation card. All cards turned in by noon on Friday, Oct. 28 will be entered into a drawing for the last $100 gift cards.

You can make a donation with the card, or by going to the safe and secure online site. You can also use your card to volunteer to work with the United Way of Northwest Arkansas, or to let us know you are using your time and skills to contribute to the community in other ways.

Any way you contribute matters, so turn in your card to help us count your participation. So far 26 percent of the U of A staff and faculty have participated in this campaign – every card that is turned in will push that percentage higher.

Thanks to everyone who is helping to make a difference and Paint Their Future Brighter – Child by Child.
