U of A to Broadcast Exercise Scientists' Presentations Nov. 11

The University of Arkansas will broadcast an installment of the Texas A&M Huffines Distinguished Lecture Series from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the Maple Hill South Auditorium.

Each year, the Texas A&M Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance brings eight leading exercise scientists and practitioners together and gives each 15 minutes to talk about revolutionary ideas. The Huffines Discussion is broadcast to interested universities that serve as satellite sites. The Human Performance Laboratory in the College of Education and Health Professions at the U of A is organizing the local broadcast on the Fayetteville campus.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can communicate directly with the speakers in College Station, Texas, through a texting service.

Speakers represent a variety of preeminent individuals in multiple forms of exercise science research and related practices. They are Russell Pate, University of South Carolina; Dat Nguyen, former All-Pro linebacker, Texas A&M and Dallas Cowboys; Peter Wagner, University of California, San Diego; Sue Bodine, University of California, Davis; William Dexter, former president of the American College of Sports Medicine; Chisa Yamaguchi, Diavolo Institute; John Jakicic, University of Pittsburgh; and James Hill, University of Colorado.

Refreshments will be provided by the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation.
