UAPD Holds 'Car Checks with the Cops'

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Police Department is taking extra steps to help keep students safe -- even when they leave campus for winter break. UAPD is partnering with O’Reilly Auto Parts and Life Source International, Inc. to offer a free, basic “car check”, including lights, fluids and tires on students’ vehicles.
There is no charge for this service, but UAPD encourages you to bring a canned or nonperishable food item to donate to Life Source International, Inc.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7 in the O’Reilly’s and Life Source parking lot at 600 S. School Avenue in Fayetteville.
All types of vehicles are welcome.
Please note: UAPD officers are not licensed mechanics and are only evaluating the safety of vehicles based on a topical, visual inspection. This is a good faith attempt to reduce your risk of delays on the road.
