U of A Music Faculty to Give Joint Concert: 'Winter Impressions'

Winter Impressions

University of Arkansas music faculty will be showcased in the Winter Impressions chamber music concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center on campus.

Featured faculty are Ronda Mains, flute; Paulo Eskitch, violin; Dominic Na, violoncello; David Malis, baritone; Miroslava Panoyotova, piano; Alan Gosman, piano; Chal Ragsdale, marimba; and Lynn Francis, marimba.

Music for the concert will include Ravel's coloristic Trio for violin, cello, and piano; another trio, for flute, violin, and piano, entitled Sarabande and Rigaudon by American impressionistic composer Arthur Foote; Chorale Variations for two marimbas; and selections from the beloved Dichterliebe by Robert Schumann.

A pre-concert lecture, hosted by Chalon Ragsdale, will take place at 2 p.m. in the concert hall.

The lecture and concert are free and open to the public. Free tickets available at the door only.
