Graduate School Announces New Office to Support Graduate Student Success
The Graduate School and International Education has created the Office of Graduate Fellowships and Student Success. The restructuring went into effect on Jan. 1.
In addition to administering doctoral fellowships, the new office will work to find additional funding opportunities for graduate students, explore new ways to provide services to graduate students and develop enrichment opportunities for graduate faculty. The office will be led by Vicky Hartwell, who previously directed domestic graduate recruitment.
The domestic and international recruitment offices will be combined and led by Lynn Mosesso, director of Graduate and International Recruitment and Admissions. Mosesso and her staff plan to keep a continued focus on increasing the enrollment of diverse and high-ability graduate students.
The move comes shortly after Chancellor Steinmetz announced the guiding priorities for the campus moving forward.
"I am excited by the creation of the Office of Graduate Fellowships and Student Success, and I believe the resources and support this new office will provide will play an important role in strengthening graduate education on our campus by helping our graduate students become even more successful," said Kim Needy, dean of the Graduate School and International Education.
