FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design brings the Traveling Sauna to the University of Arkansas campus from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2. As part of its coast-to-coast tour in honor of Finland's centennial celebration, the sauna will make a stop on the north lawn of Vol Walker Hall.

The Traveling Sauna celebrates Finland's 100 years of independence in 2017. The campaign is supported by the Embassy of Finland in the United States, with logistics handled by Ice Cold Marketing. Finland's Independence Day will officially occur Dec. 6, 2017.

Throughout this year, the sauna (also known as Sisu) plans to travel a route of more than 10,000 miles starting from Minnesota, making its way through the West Coast and ending up in Washington, D.C., in December.

It comes to Fayetteville in between stops in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Dallas, Texas. Visit the Traveling Sauna's website to see more locations to catch the sauna and join in the celebration.

For the Traveling Sauna's stop on the U of A campus, members of the campus community are invited to sign up for a session in the sauna. These sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis in 30-minute intervals, with up to five guests permitted in the sauna at a time. A sign-up sheet will be available Feb. 2 in the Deans' Suite, Room 120, of Vol Walker Hall. Swimsuits and towels are required for these sauna sessions, so please arrive prepared.
