UREC to Offer Spring Small Group Training

University Recreation is offering Small Group Training classes during the spring 2017 semester. Small group training offers a unique opportunity to explore a new dimension of fitness by blending camaraderie of a group fitness with individualized attention of a certified personal trainer. It is a great option for those seeking to be a part of a motivating class working towards achieving their fitness goals.

Classes are offered at various times throughout the day to fit any schedule, with classes conveniently located at the HPER and UREC Fitness Centers. Class offerings include UREC RazorFitness, Foam Roll Yoga, Inversion and Arm Balance Yoga, and Outdoor Athlete.  Each of the eight-week classes meet twice a week and will run Feb. 20 to April 20. The cost for students to participate in the entire eight-week section is $25, for all other UREC membership types the cost will be $35.

If you would like to try any of the classes on the schedule, complimentary demos will be held at the scheduled class times from Monday to Thursday, Feb. 13-16.

Brooke Cochran, club sports coordinator, participated in Small Group Training on a regular basis this summer and has a lot to say when it comes to what this program has done for her, "I really enjoyed the group environment because it has helped me stay accountable and allowed me to meet other students and professionals on campus.  The variety of equipment and class format was always exciting and increased our comfort level with trying new workouts outside of the Small Group Training class."

Register for Small Group Training at the membership offices located in HPER 225, the UREC Fitness Center in the Arkansas Union or register online at urecmembers.uark.edu.  The Spring 2017 Small Group Training schedule, registration packet and more information for all session dates and times can be found at http://urec.uark.edu/fitness/small-group-training/index.php
