Community Music School Hosts Piano Day March 4

The Community Music School will host Piano Day from 12:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall on the University of Arkansas campus.

Open to high school students, college students and piano teachers, this free event will showcase the piano area of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Music. Select participants will have the opportunity to perform in a masterclass led by professor Jura Margulis. U of A faculty will also lead breakout sessions in their specialized fields, providing participants with helpful tips and tricks to utilize in their own practice and teaching. Piano Day will culminate in an evening recital featuring Margulis.

Additional information about Piano Day, including the registration form, can be found at the Community Music School website. Check-in will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the opening concert will start at 1 p.m. The event is free, but pre-registration is requested. 

The Community Music School is the outreach arm of the Department of Music in the Fulbright College and offers high-quality music programs to students of all ages and levels. By providing a quality foundation for students to reach their greatest musical potential, the school's programs nurture the creative spirit for personal growth and satisfaction.
