Panel Discussion for College, School Leaders Regarding Immigration Ban
The Sam M. Walton College of Business will host an information session/lunch meeting for deans, associate and assistant deans and directors from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday, March 6, in Room 103 of the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development. The topic will be implications of the Executive Order barring visitors from designated countries and how we can better advise and show support for our international student population.
The discussion will be led by Michael Freeman, director of the Office for International Students and Scholars. Other panelist will include:
- Audra Johnston, associate director of the Office for International Students and Scholars.
- Jeremiah Wax, foreign student adviser in the Office for International Students and Scholars.
- Grace Monk, foreign student adviser in the Office for International Students and Scholars.
Dr. Josette Cline, director of Counseling and Psychological Services at the Pat Walker Health Center will provide information on how the legalities of this matter may be affecting students mental health and anxiety levels and how to best assist them.
Professor Laurent Sacharoff, professor of law, and K. Drew Devenport, visiting assistant professor of law and an immigration attorney, will be available to provide information regarding the legal ramifications experienced by students, families and others.
