University Housing Resident Satisfaction Survey Ends March 20

The annual Resident Satisfaction Survey, or EBI Survey, helps University Housing respond to the needs of our residents.

The survey is a measurement of how residents feel about their student housing experience.

A random sample of 2,500 student residents were asked to complete the survey.

The deadline for completing the survey is Monday, March 20.

The survey measures resident's opinions on a number of areas, including:

• Learning related to hall staff and student interactions
• Acquiring time management and life skills
• Satisfaction with the living accommodations, technology, security and dining

To encourage participation among students, Housing offers four chances each week to win a Yeti 30-ounce tumbler throughout the entire survey period.

Additionally, chances at three grand prizes are offered:

• A $600 Meal Plan Credit and
• One of two Yeti Coolers (valued at $300 each)

At the end of the survey period, a final drawing will take place to select the three grand-prize winners.

Housing began gathering residents' input through the annual survey in 1993. It is administered through Educational Benchmarking Inc. (EBI) and based on standards upheld by Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.

"Housing's success is built on responding to our residents' needs," said Flo Johnson, assistant vice chancellor for housing.

"This survey allows us to measure our efforts to create a residential experience that contributes to academic success for students."

Hall staff/student Interactions and security are strong indicators of resident satisfaction over the past decade.

These factors both improved greatly over time, from below or at satisfactory in 2005, to far above satisfactory in 2015.
