Rogers, Ark. – Participants can register now for the April 21 Emerging Leaders Certificate Program that helps professionals build recognized skills and prepare for new leadership roles.

The one-day program is designed for mid-managers, new professionals, and career-changers who want to learn a mix of dynamic leadership skills, including self-reflection, self-confidence, motivation techniques and conflict resolution.

Buster Arnwine, vice president of sales for Reckitt Benckiser, will teach the class from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the University of Arkansas Global Campus Rogers, 3300 Market St., Suite 402.

The cost is $879, and lunch will be provided. U of A faculty, staff and current students get a 10 percent discount. Group rates are also available.

Participants will gain an understanding of their own strengths and limitations, and then build skills to motivate others to reach organizational goals, said Heather Sprandel, program organizer for the Global Campus and adjunct instructor for the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

“To be successful, professionals must draw from a toolbox of leadership skills,” Sprandel said. “This program will equip participants with the essential skills needed to tackle leadership challenges and motivate those around them to achieve workplace goals.”

Participants will earn a certificate of completion from the University of Arkansas. Course topics include:

  • Adaptive leadership
  • Birkman Assessment and leadership styles
  • Understanding organizational behavior
  • Oral and written communication
  • Negotiation and influence
