U of A Students Hold Dance to Raise Money for Fayetteville Senior Center

The Senior Center in Fayetteville serves the entire Northwest Arkansas aging community by distributing meals through their Meals on Wheels Program. In 2016, this program provided over 41,771 meals to home-bound seniors in the community for no cost to the individual. Each of these meals cost over $7 to prepare and deliver. However, Arkansas continues to rank No. 1 in food insecurity for the elderly.

A group of social work students at the University of Arkansas have come together to raise money for the Meals on Wheels program. The "Spring in Your Step" dance is being held at the Fayetteville Senior Center on April 20 and begins at 6 p.m. There will be live music, dancing, games, and raffles. Food will be donated by Grub's Bar and Grille, Gusano's, and Mojo's Pints and Pies. There is a $5 entry free. Alternatively, donations in any amount are encouraged through the Group Me campaign "Senior Citizen: Spring in Your Step."
