Sexual Consent, Exercise Are Topics of Students' Research Presentations Friday

University of Arkansas students Casey Ward, Taylor Martinez and Aaron Caldwell will give presentations on their research from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, in Room 311 of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation building.

Ward’s talk is titled “The Impact of Social Situations on College Students’ Perceptions of Consent.” Martinez’s talk is titled “Greek Men and Perpetrator Perceptions of Campus Sexual Assault.” Caldwell's talk is titled "Quantifying Sweat Gland Activation and Output."

Ward is a master’s student in biology in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and is a member of the Sexuality Education & Consent Studies Laboratory in the College of Education and Health Professions. Her faculty adviser is Kristen Jozkowski, associate professor of public health.

Martinez is a master’s student in human environmental sciences in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, and her adviser is Jacquelyn Wiersma-Mosley, associate professor in the School of Human Environmental Sciences.

Caldwell is a doctoral student in exercise science, and his adviser is Matthew Ganio, associate professor of exercise science.

The presentations are part of the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation Research Seminar Series. The seminars are free and open to the public. The series is intended to expose students and faculty to research being conducted in the department.
