Wood-Williams to Present Diversity Workshop at National Conference

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Danielle Wood-Williams, director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance at the University of Arkansas has been selected to present a workshop at the American Association for Access, Equity and Diversity's National Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. The theme of the annual conference Bridging Opportunities – We Are Known By The Tracks We Leave. Wood-Williams’ workshop, “Managing Diversity in the Workplace” will be held on Thursday, June 8.

The American Association for Access, Equity and Diversity is the oldest operating association of professionals in the Equal Opportunity profession and is a leader in equal opportunity, affirmative action and diversity training and advocacy for professionals in higher education, private industry and government. It also promotes understanding and advocacy of affirmative action and other equal opportunity and related compliance laws to enhance the tenets of access, inclusion and equality in employment, economic and educational opportunities.

Wood-Williams joined the U of A in 2000 and was named director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance in 2013. She is responsible for leading and coordinating the university’s affirmative-action programs and ensuring equal opportunity compliance, in accordance with federal and state laws and U of A policies.   

Wood-Williams has bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and human resource development, a master’s degree in vocational education with an emphasis in human resource development, and a doctorate in workforce development education, all from the U of A.

She is also a major in the Arkansas Air National Guard, where she has served since 2014 as equal opportunity director in the equal opportunity office of the 188th Fighter Wing in Fort Smith.
