Progress Continues on UREC Sports Complex Renovation Project
UREC Sports Complex under renovation
FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Substantial progress has been made on the UREC Sports Complex renovation project at 1486 Mitchell St.
When complete, the playing surface of all five fields will be converted to artificial turf. Six weeks into the project, sub-grading to field 1 has been completed, as has the installation of new LED light fixtures. The new fixtures will simultaneously increase light levels while reducing light pollution and operational costs.
Additional Phase 1 projects to be completed in July include the laying of a perimeter concrete containment curb, stone work and the installation of an under-turf drainage system.
Phase 2 of the project, which involves fields 2-5, will begin in July. A stabilized subgrade will be established, as will fencing, foundations and curbs.
The UREC Sports Complex renovation project is on schedule for a projected completion date of late September 2017.
