Aaron Jones, Global Campus center manager, was named employee of the fourth quarter by the University of Arkansas Global Campus.

Jones was nominated for his outstanding management of moving the Global Campus to its temporary locations at Uptown Campus West and East Township Street, while the Global Campus building on the downtown Fayetteville square undergoes renovation.

Donald Judges, vice provost of distance education and head of the Global Campus, presented the award to Jones at a recent staff meeting.

"I accept this award on behalf of my team," Jones said. "They made this possible."

Jones, who joined the Global Campus in 2012, was nominated for managing a complex, staged plan to move the administrative team and most of the Global Campus staff, furniture and computers from its downtown building to a temporary location at Uptown Campus West, a building shared with Spring International Learning Center and Veterans Upward Bound. The Media Production team and others moved to Rockhill Studios on East Township Street.  Jones managed logistical operations with Facilities Management and coordinated a moving team and technical support.

"Aaron was patient and methodical as he worked with our staff and others, facilitating a seamless transition that minimized work disruption," Judges said. "Aaron handled every issue that arose during this massive project, and he did it with a smile."

The Global Campus awards the employee of the quarter honor to recognize outstanding achievement and accomplishments that relate to the unit's goals and the U of A mission.  The other fourth-quarter nominee was Ken Muessig.

The award winner receives a commemorative certificate and a monetary award.
