Office of General Counsel's Matt McCoy Receives First Chair Award for Top In-House Counsel
Matt McCoy, associate general counsel for the university, was awarded the prestigious 2017 First Chair Award for excellence in legal counsel. He was recognized in the category of "Top Assistant General Counsel."
The award honors the nation's top in-house counsel for their accomplishments in the past year. First Chair honorees are selected by a committee of attorneys from top law firms around the country who have been recognized as leaders in their area of practice. McCoy has more than 16 years of experience representing public institutions and is a graduate of both the Sam M. Walton College of Business and the University of Arkansas School of Law. He will be honored at the First Chair Awards Conference & Gala in Chicago on Aug. 30.
