FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Camilla Shumaker has joined the University Relations team as director of science and research communications. Shumaker was previously director of communication for the College of Engineering.

“We are very excited about Camilla leading our science and research communications team,” said Amy Schlesing, director of strategic communications for University Relations. “She did an outstanding job for six years at the College of Engineering, telling their stories, often stories about research. She is a natural fit in her new position and we are all looking forward to working with her.”

As director of science and research communications, Shumaker will oversee Research Frontiers, the university’s research website, and advance the research programs of all colleges and schools on campus through communications and media relations. She joined the Office of University Relations on August 1.

Shumaker is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing.
