Global Campus Launches New Workforce Development Podcast Today

ROGERS, Ark. – Tune in today to Coffee Break, a new podcast from the Global Campus in Rogers. Programs will highlight workforce development in Northwest Arkansas and its connections to the University of Arkansas.

Loray Mosher, podcast host and a program coordinator for the Global Campus in Rogers, will produce monthly stories with industry leaders, community partners, and educators who fuel workforce development in the region.

Each podcast, limited to 15 to 20 minutes, is designed to accommodate the busy schedules of employees and employers. Each story will end with "The Cup of the Day," a short message about Global Campus programming, U of A collaborations, and industry partnerships in Northwest Arkansas and beyond.

Episode 1 will feature Donald Judges, vice provost for distance education and leader of the Global Campus; Tara Dryer, who manages operations at the Global Campus in Rogers; and Jamie Loftin, assistant vice provost for distance education administration. The Global Campus, also known as the School of Continuing Education and Academic Outreach, has offered workforce and professional development programming for decades.

Coffee Break podcasts will be available on all major audio platforms, including Podomatic, Sticher, Podcastaddict and iTunes. Listeners can also link directly to the programs at http://training.uark.edu/coffee-break/.

Mosher, who proposed the project, will broadcast from the new Global Campus studio in collaboration with the IT Readiness Program. That program allows students to earn information technology certificates to qualify them for entry-level jobs in front-end development, back-end development, Java and mobile applications.
