University Recreation Releases New Mobile App

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As the fall semester hits its stride, University Recreation has moved to a new mobile app with a user-friendly interface that is integrated with the UREC Membership Portal.
Users can now register for intramural sports in the app itself, as well as view registration times, dates, and open spots for specific sports.
Calendars are a central feature in the new app. Users can create custom group fitness schedules inside the app, by opening a class and tapping "Fav." Classes will then appear in a daily schedule under Favorite Classes.
For those who use a calendar app on their phone to plan their day, opening a class and tapping "Event" will allow a class to be saved directly to the calendar app of choice.
Additional features include facility hours and information on programs including Club Sports, UREC Outdoors, the UREC Sports Injury Clinic, and more.
"The new UREC app is just another step in our on-going efforts to better serve students, our members, and the U of A community," said John Mark Cagle, public information coordinator for University Recreation. "The new platform is far more interactive and provides convenient access during a time when the use of mobile devices is rapidly increasing."
The previous version of the app, named "uarkrec", will no longer be updated, effective immediately.
Users can find the new app by searching "urecarkansas" in the App Store or Google Play Store, and downloading the application featuring the image above.
