New IRB Protocol Submission Process Debuts

As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the RazorGrant electronic research administration system, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Innovation is rolling out a new, online Institutional Review Board submission process. The IRB is the body that ensures researchers use safe, ethical practices when engaging in research involving human subjects.

Effective Sept. 18, the IRB module within the RazorGrant system is online and ready for use.

Effective Oct. 1, the IRB coordinator will no longer accept the Protocol Submission Form via email, fax or hard copy. Protocols will need to be entered into the RazorGrant IRB module for review.

The vice provost's office held system demonstrations the week of Aug. 14-17. For investigators with protocols ready to submit, the office is also offering hands-on training Tuesdays and Wednesdays in September and October. Please remember to bring your laptop to the training.

The training flyer is available online. Registration for hands-on training is also available online. For more information check the Research and Sponsored Programs web page.
