City Asks for Survey Participation and Public Input for Welcoming Fayetteville Plan

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The city of Fayetteville is asking for opinions on potential strategies for its Welcoming Fayetteville Plan, which will focus on the inclusion and integration of new Americans in the Fayetteville community. The city will host public workshops through early October, including one at the University of Arkansas on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

The public is also encouraged to participate in an online survey, which is available in English or Español.

The Welcoming Fayetteville Plan will identify strategies that will allow the city and its stakeholders to break down barriers and make everyday life easier for new Americans. The survey and workshops will focus on prioritization of potential strategies that were developed after meeting with local and regional organizations that work with new Americans.

The stakeholder organizations represent several sectors such as education, health, transportation, culture, and economic development, among others. Public feedback will be used to identify existing conditions, community concerns, and focus areas for the plan, which is set to be completed and presented to City Council in early 2018.

Today, Sept. 27

• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fayetteville Public Library, 401 W. Mountain Street

Tuesday, Oct. 3

• 3 to 7 p.m. at Fayetteville City Hall, 113 W. Mountain Street

Tuesday, Oct. 10

• 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Arkansas student union, 435 N. Garland Avenue
