Walton College Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center staff are hosting a free one day conference for small businesses and students on Thursday, Oct. 5. Pre-registration required.

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business will host a Small Business Enterprise Summit on Thursday, Oct. 5, in the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development on the University of Arkansas campus.

This free full-day conference is for Northwest Arkansas small businesses and University of Arkansas students wanting to learn about intellectual property, digital marketing, human resource legal issues, government contracts, small business funding options and advertising in a mixed media market. Participants will hear from local successful business owners and meet resource providers.

The full-day event will highlight regional resources such as the city of Fayetteville, Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Legacy National Bank, New Course Financial, Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce, SBA, SCORE, Startup Junkie Consulting, Startup Junkie Foundation and the World Trade Center. The organizations will be on hand to meet and discuss venture needs and share more information on how they can assist small business.

The small business center has helped Northwest Arkansas clients start more than 70 businesses, create more than 300 local jobs and obtain $25 million capital infusion over the past three years.

"We have a passion to see small businesses grow," said Bill Fox, director of the Walton College Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center. "This conference is a great resource for small businesses who want to take their business to the next level. We hope that entrepreneurs and students will take away knowledge and resources to help their business ventures".

The conference is free and lunch is provided, courtesy of Legacy National Bank, conference sponsor. Pre-registration required. Registration ends Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 5 p.m.
