Need a 1-Hour Academic Course? Wellness Department Offers New Academic Course

Pat Walker Health Center's Wellness & Health Promotion department is excited to offer a new 1-hour academic credit course that provides an innovative approach toward improving personal wellness.

Wellness U, combines traditional classroom learning with group and individual wellness coaching. This 8-week, 50-minute course also helps enhance students' sense of well-being in areas of mindfulness, resilience, assertiveness and physical health.

Participants of Wellness U will develop skills and strategies for better handling of life's challenges by exploring their individual strengths in partnership with support from a certified wellness and health coach.

Students who successfully complete Wellness U may also apply for the peer wellness coaching internship program. Once certified as a peer wellness coach, students can help provide individual and group sessions for their fellow students.

Wellness U is offered Oct. 12-Dec. 7, and is at 50-minute class taught on Tuesdays and Thursday's starting at 10 a.m. in room 283 of the health center.
