SOOIE Announces September 'Of the Month' Winners

The Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience (SOOIE) is proud to announce Registered Student Organization Member and Advisor of the Month for September. The winners are as follows:

The Member of the Month is Lilly Glaeser from the general leadership team of Pi Mu Epsilon (Undergraduate Math Club). Glaesar is in charge of creating weekly informational posts and publishing them on numerous social media platforms. She also helps brainstorm fundraising ideas along with other activities and miscellaneous tasks. Prior to her being involved in Pi Mu Epsilon, the social media platforms had gone untouched for 3 years. She has revamped these accounts and goes above and beyond in designing the posts, drawing students into the club with her effective communication. Her peers say that she is a valued member of Pi Mu Epsilon and a vital member to the board.

The Advisor of the Month for September is Xong Lor, advisor for Gamma Eta and a Gamma Eta alumna. Gamma Eta focuses on empowering women and developing leaders with a strong sense of commitment to their communities. Their goal is to raise cultural awareness within our community. As the primary advisor, Lor has helped students explore leadership qualities that they never saw in themselves. She really hopes to see growth on campus, and is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that. She is highly commended by her members, and she is also extremely involved in many other aspects of campus.

As winners of the "of the month" awards, Glaeser and Lor are now qualified nominees for the RSO Annual Awards to be presented at the prestigious Student Involvement Banquet. This event will highlight the amazing things RSO's made happen this school year.

Members of the campus community are invited to nominate a deserving advisor, event, or RSO member for one of SOOIE's "Of the Month" awards. Nominations for the month of October are now open and are due on October 31. Member of the Month will receive a $10 Chartwells gift card and Advisor of the Month will receive a framed certificate of recognition. SOOIE will also reward RSO's who win Event of the Month by providing snacks at their next executive meeting.

SOOIE is an RSO focusing on outreach and involvement. Please contact SOOIE Vice President Ally Davis at sooievp@uark.edu or call 479-575-5255 if you have any questions.

This program is sponsored by SOOIE through the Office of Student Activities and is supported by the Student Activities fee. Follow SOOIE on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and HogSync for "Of the Month Award" updates and much more on how you can get involved on campus!
