Faculty Invited to Learn About New Program for Graduate Student Education

Faculty in all disciplines are invited to learn about a new opportunity to train graduate students. The STEM Professional Awareness, Advancement, and Development program, or PAAD, is an interdisciplinary effort that provides support for faculty to develop or modify classes or activities that provide graduate students in STEM disciplines with the experiences and skills they need to succeed in a variety of careers.

PAAD, which is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation, provides faculty fellows with up to one month of summer salary, as well as a travel and materials allowance. It includes a two-day summer teaching workshop. The program also provides travel allowances for STEM graduate students to attend career-related enrichment activities.

Online applications are open now through Nov. 17. Faculty from across campus are urged to apply. To learn more, visit nsfpaad.uark.edu and attend one of two upcoming information sessions. These 30 minute sessions will be held in Mullins 104:

  • Oct. 23, 3 p.m.
  • Oct. 24, 3 p.m.
