University Community Invited to Free Screening of Teach Us All Oct. 26 at Union Theatre

The Arkansas Teacher Corps, in conjunction with Urban Teachers, invites you to a free documentary movie in the UARK Union Theatre at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26. There will be complimentary popcorn. A previous announcement about free haunted house tickets was incorrect.

Teach Us All tells the powerful story of segregation in American schools. Sixty years after nine black students courageously entered Little Rock Central High School, how far have we really come and where do we still need to go?

Through case studies in Little Rock, New York City, and Los Angeles, this feature-length documentary film seeks to bring the critical lessons of history to bear on the current state of U.S. education.

The Arkansas Teacher Corps, a program of the Department of Education Reform in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas, recruits, trains, and support exceptional, social justice-oriented individuals to serve as teachers for Arkansas students who need them the most. Prior to the screening, staff members from ATC will discuss the mission and philosophy of Arkansas Teacher Corps and share information about the process of applying for a Fellowship to teach in high-need K-12 schools in the Arkansas Delta.
