Bumpers College, Agro-Panama International Hosting Event for International Education Week

The event will cover cuisine, culture and clothing of Panama, plus more.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The International Programs Office in U of A's Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and Agro-Panama International are hosting an informational meeting and social next week as part of International Education Week.

A Celebration of Panamanian Culture event is Tuesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Holcombe Hall ISS Room 104F. Agro-Panama International is a registered student organization and will be sharing information on cuisine, culture, clothing and more.

Panamanian food will be served and attendees can register to win a Panamanian cuisine cooking class.

The meeting is open to all students on campus.

Nov. 13-17 is International Education week, which highlight benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. The joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of the U of A's efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States.

Bumpers College students are encouraged to engage in study abroad that will lead to life-long partnerships, cultural awareness and understanding of the global dimensions of their majors. The college's International Programs Office provides structured international experiences that enhance the marketability of students for career and academic opportunities through faculty driven, sustainable initiatives.  

The college sponsors exchange programs to Austria and France, along with faculty-led programs in Belgium, India, Italy, Mozambique, New Zealand and Australia; internships in Greece and Scotland; and research opportunities in Brazil and the Philippines, and Greece.
