Fall 2017 Trombone Studio

The University of Arkansas Trombone Ensemble — the RAZORBONES — has been selected to perform at the International Trombone Festival for summer 2018. The ensemble, directed by Cory Mixdorf, was selected by a panel of professional educators and performers based on submitted materials and recordings.

The festival will take place in Iowa City at the University of Iowa, July 11-14. The selection of the RAZORBONES by the International Trombone Assocition is a major recognition for the University of Arkansas and the Department of Music.

The RAZORBONES will perform a fundraiser event this coming Sunday, Nov. 26, at 5 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. The event called "Carol of the Bones" will include the ensemble performing carols and holiday jingles, fit for the whole family.

The concert is free and open to the public, but donations will gladly taken to support the RAZORBONE activity fund and the trip to Iowa City. For local trombone players, Mixdorf invites you to bring your trombone to the Carol of the Bones to join in on the mass trombone choir for the resounding finale to the concert.
