Registration Open for ESL Symposium That Focuses on Connecting With Parents

Connecting with parents of children designated as culturally and linguistically diverse with the goal of promoting positive outcomes is the theme of this year's University of Arkansas ESL Symposium.

The symposium sponsored by the College of Education and Health Professions takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1325 N. Palak Drive in Fayetteville. More information and a registration link are available online. The online registration deadline is Feb. 12.

Jane Adams, the executive director of Keys for Networking Inc., in Topeka, Kansas, will be the featured speaker. The nonprofit organization provides peer-to-peer information, support and education to families raising children with behavioral, educational, emotional, mental, physical and substance abuse problems.

This is the 10th year for the symposium, which offers 6 hours of professional development approved by the Arkansas Department of Education.
