Harvard Lecturer, Author of Education Book to Speak at U of A on March 5
Celine Coggins
Celine Coggins, a lecturer and entrepreneur-in-residence at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, will give a presentation titled "How to Be Heard" at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 5 on the University of Arkansas campus.
Coggins' appearance is sponsored by the College of Education and Health Professions at the U of A and will take place in the Graduate Education Building auditorium, Room 166. It is free and open to the public.
Previously, Coggins founded and ran Teach Plus, a nationwide network of over 30,000 top-performing teachers. She recently published How to Be Heard: Ten Lessons Teachers Need to Advocate for Their Students and Profession based on the decade she spent leading Teach Plus.
Coggins began her career as a middle school teacher in Worcester, Massachusetts. She holds a doctorate in education policy analysis from Stanford University.
The U of A Bookstore will sell Coggins' book before and after the event. The bookstore is offering a 10 percent discount on her book now through the event.
