FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Police Department conducts a test of the RazALERT emergency messaging system once each semester. This spring semester test will be conducted at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 6.

RazALERT is the U of A system used to send all types of emergency messages to members of the campus community. It is also used to send inclement weather messages to announce that classes are cancelled or delayed and offices closed or opening late as a result of the weather.

During the test Tuesday, everyone with a U of A email account and/or campus phone should receive email and voice mail messages. Everyone who has signed up should also receive text and voice mail messages on their personal phones.

Anyone who does not receive all of the test messages they expect should contact razalert@uark.edu.

Any student, faculty or staff member who wants to receive messages on their personal phones, or to update their information, can do so easily:

  • Students – log into UAConnect, go to your Profile, then to Campus Alerts. Put in the numbers you want to use and check the boxes for the messages you want.
  • Faculty and Staff – log in to webBASIS, go to My Personal Data, then Addresses, etc. and look for Contact Information. Check the boxes for the messages you want.

The RazALERT test will happen at the same time as the UAPD’s regular weekly test of the campus tornado warning sirens.
