UaRk Change Seeks to Educate on Activism on Campus
Lauren Husband

Join the inaugural session of UaRk Change: Conversations on Activism in Action!

UaRk Change is a quarterly series hosted by Lead Hogs, the UA Multicultural Center, and the OMNI Center for Peace, Justice, and Ecology. The educational and interactive series will feature local organizations working to create change in the community.

Through this series, students will learn various activism strategies, as well as new ways to get involved with activism & nonprofit work in Northwest Arkansas.

The first session will feature local justice group People Power Washington County.

People Power Washington County is currently working on immigration policy and 4th Amendment issues in Northwest Arkansas. Join them at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 23, in the Pomfret TV Room to learn what People Power does and what strategies they are using to change local policy and educate the public. There will also be opportunities available to volunteer with their campaign.

This is just the first event of the series. Please keep your eyes open for more activism education in Fall 2018!

Also: free pizza!
