Meyers Selected as NODA Region IV Outstanding New Professional

Matt Meyers, assistant director of new student programs in the office of New Student & Family Programs in the Division of Student Affairs was recently selected as the Region IV Outstanding New Professional for NODA - Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education. 

"This is a great honor and I appreciate the recognition. Being involved in NODA has shaped my professional career and I am always looking for ways to enhance the programs and experiences that we provide for our students at the UofA. NODA has given me the opportunity to learn best practices and how to navigate the field of orientation, transition, and retention to better serve my students," Meyers said.  

NODA was chartered in 1976 and is an international association comprised of professional administrators, students, faculty and related organizations. The mission of NODA is to provide education, leadership and professional development in the fields of college student orientation, transition, and retention. The association serves professionals at two-year, four-year, and graduate institutions. Region IV is comprised of members from institutions in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.  

Meyers earned a bachelors degree in psychology, masters degree in higher education, and is pursuing a doctor of education degree in higher education administration here at the University of Arkansas.  Meyers joined the Division of Student Affairs as a Program Coordinator in September 2014. He has served in many NODA regional and national positions and most recently hosted the 2016 Region IV Conference in Tulsa.
