De-Stressing Dissertation Week activities are aimed at helping students reduce the anxiety that comes with the last week of classes.

The Office of Graduate Fellowships and Student Support is kicking off De-Stressing Dissertation Week today, April 30. The week is filled with activities aimed to help graduate students decompress during the last week of the spring semester.

Events featured during the week are:

  • Board Games, Puzzles, Cards and Coloring: April 30-May 4, Graduate Student Lounge (Gearhart Hall 206). The lounge will be stocked with coloring pages, decks of cards, Slinkies, Dominoes, puzzles, Jenga, Connect Four, Scrabble, Chess, Checkers...there's even a Rubiks cube.
  • Coffee and Donuts: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., April 30-May 4, Graduate Student Lounge. Graduate students are invited to stop by the lounge throughout the week to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and grab a donut while they last. Coffee will be available until 5 p.m.; donuts are first-come, first-served.
  • Dog Therapy with the K-9 Officers: 10 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, May 2, Graduate Student Lounge. Graduate students are welcome to visit with and pet the University of Arkansas Police Department dogs.
  • Photo Booth, Writing on the Wall, and Thank You Videos: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, May 3, Graduate Student Lounge. Graduate students are invited to celebrate the end of the semester by taking photos with friends in a photo booth, writing their advice on the wall of the Graduate Student Lounge and recording thank you videos to say thank you to the family, friends and faculty who have supported their graduate education. This event is co-sponsored by the Graduate Student Congress.
  • "Best in Show" Dog Show from the Honors College: 3-5 p.m., Gearhart Hall Courtyard. There will be popsicles, popcorn, a photo booth, dog treats and excellent prizes for the winning dogs. This event is sponsored by the Honors College.
