Panama Discussed at Tuesday's Holcombe Global Series Program

Discover Panama during this month's Holcombe Global Series.

The presentation starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, in Holcombe Hall's living room.

Several students from Panama will present on their culture, focusing on the country's history, traditions, and food.

Panama links Central and South America and is home to the Panama Canal. Panama has modern cities, a colonial historic district as well as a rainforest.

"We are a country with a diverse culture and an immense variety of ethnic groups," Panamanian student Janeth Jaèn said. "We are a big community here at the University of Arkansas, and like every Panamanian, we want to share the fascinating culture we come from."

This event is open to all within the university community. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and engage with the presenters after the presentation.

Prior countries featured in the Global Series this academic year include India, Japan, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia, Mexico, Russia, Jordan, Moldova, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Rwanda.
