New Password Self-Service System Starts June 4

New Password Self-Service System Starts June 4
Resource Space

Expired passwords will soon be a thing of the past, thanks to a new self-service password reset system for students, faculty and staff.

Starting Monday, June 4, users will be prompted to register for password self-service when they log into campus services such as UARK email, UAConnect and Blackboard Learn. Password self-service will simplify the password reset process while increasing the security of UARK accounts.

While passwords will no longer expire every 120 days, users can still change their password at any time by visiting password.uark.edu. Users will also be able to select the "Forgot my password" link from any login screen.

To register for password self-service, users will be asked to enter their @uark.edu email address. On the next page, users will be presented with three authentication methods that can be used in the event they forget their account password and need to reset it.

Options for authentication methods include Authentication Phone, Authentication Email (must be a non-UARK email address) and Security Questions. Users are required to set up two of the three options for identity verification. Setting up all three methods will further strengthen the security of their account.

Passwords can also be reset in person at the IT Help Desk in the Arkansas Union with a photo ID to verify identity.
