Apply Now to Be Part of Volunteer Action Center's Food Programs for Summer

Both the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Campus Food Pantry and Razorback Food Recovery Programs need volunteers to help run the programs through the summer. They welcome anyone 16 years of age or older to apply for a volunteer shift. Training is provided before volunteering begins. Volunteers are asked to commit to a weekly shift for the duration of Summer Session 1 or Summer Session 2. Exact dates for each program are provided in the application links below.

The Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Campus Food Pantry was founded in 2011 and serves students, staff, faculty and their households of the University of Arkansas. The services we provide over the summer include serving clients through our on-campus pantry, serving our off-campus client through our Full Circle Express mobile pantry, maintaining our gardens, and other projects. We need volunteers to help serve clients during open hours, restock shelves, portion dry foods, keep the pantry clean, maintain our gardens, and run Full Circle Express. Razorback Food Recovery was founded in 2014. In partnership with Chartwells, RFR recovers food from dining halls and retail locations on campus and distributes it to local agencies in Fayetteville. In our short time, we have recovered over 130,000 pounds of food! We need volunteers to recover food and deliver food Monday through Friday. Razorback Food Recovery also recovers from the Walmart Shareholders week. These volunteer shifts are a single-day commitment, allowing for more flexibility. The organization will recover from Walmart Shareholders week next Tuesday, May 29, to Saturday, June 2.
