Health Center Parking Lot 29 Closed for Construction; Pedestrian Access Unavailable Through August

Construction and renovations are currently underway for Lot 29, the parking lot located at the west side of Pat Walker Health Center. The lot will be closed to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic until Sunday, Aug. 5. Pedestrians will be redirected toward Garland Avenue.

The lot, which is part of the health center expansion project, will undergo restriping to allow for two-way traffic, new parking arrangements, and enhanced pedestrian traffic-flow. Dedicated health center patient parking will also return once construction is completed.

In addition to Lot 29, construction on the health center's grand entrance will continue this week. Drivers and pedestrians can expect Garland Avenue right-lane and sidewalk closures throughout June. Pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to stay alert and follow redirect signs accordingly. For health center ADA access, use the north entrance.

On May 4, the health center celebrated the opening of its new, state-of-the-art, 20,000-square-foot addition. Renovations are currently underway in the existing facility for Counseling and Psychological Services and expected to be completed by Fall semester.
