Golfers meeting on the putting green before teeing off.

The first annual Master of Science in Operations Management (MSOM) Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, July 28, at Stonebridge Meadows Golf Course.

Fifteen golfers competed in a scramble to benefit the new MSOM Scholarship Fund, which raised more than $1,300 for scholarships awarded in the Fall and Spring semester to Operations Management graduate students who excel academically and demonstrate financial need.

This year's winners, all from the Civil Engineering Department, are:

  • Gary Prinz

  • Rick Coffman

  • Julian Fairey

  • Cameron Murray

Operations Management would like to thank the following vendors who made generous donations for the tournament:
Golf USA, Grubs Bar and Grill, Alumni Hall, Arkansas Alumni, and The MSOM Alumni Society.

The first scholarship was recently awarded to Marietta, Georgia student J.C. Thompson. Thompson, 37, is a first-generations college student who works in the field of intelligent transport systems.

The MSOM Scholarship Fund is made possible thanks to gifts from alumni and friends of the Master of Science in Operations Management program. All gifts made in support of the MSOM Scholarship Fund count toward Campaign Arkansas, a $1.25 billion capital campaign focused on advancing academic opportunity at the University of Arkansas.
