Host Students, Families Needed for iFriend Program
An iFriend Friendship Family enjoys a night of bowling
The University of Arkansas iFriend program is seeking hosts for the upcoming academic year. The iFriend program connects local individuals or families with University of Arkansas international students, as a platform to build friendships. Individuals can get involved with the iFriend program by becoming a Campus Cousin or a Friendship Family.
The Campus Cousins program matches international students with domestic students at the U of A and allows the students to develop a peer friendship by participating in campus life events and sharing their culture. Those interested in becoming a Campus Cousin should complete the online application.
The Friendship Family program matches international students with individuals or families in the local community. Hosts meet with their international students once a month or more to share traditions, holidays and everyday life. Those interested in becoming a Friendship Family should complete the online application.
The iFriend program is also offering an opportunity for members of the community to host new international students and scholars for "Dinner in an American Home." The one-time hosting opportunity allows new international students and scholars to get the cultural experience of enjoying a typical dinner around the table with an American family.
