Gender and Politics in the Middle East to be Offered for Fall 2018
Are you interested in the complexities of women's political lives in the Middle East and North Africa? Shirin Saeidi, assistant professor of political science will be teaching an introductory course studying gender roles, relations, and identities and how they are constructed, negotiated, and experienced during different political moments.
Through this course, you will be comfortable conducting comparative analyses on how revolution in a region influences the status of women, the different ways in which religion operates in relation to women's rights, and to what extent women share similar socio-political experiences because of violent conflict.
PLSC 400V-003 (12193) Gender and Politics in the Middle East will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2-3:15 p.m. in Memorial Hall 318. Seats are available and registration is open through UAConnect.
