Webinar: How to Communicate With Senior Decision Makers

The M.S. in Operations Management and M.S. in Engineering Management programs will offer a free webinar Aug. 29 to help employees learn best practices for sharing information with high-level decision makers.

The webinar is titled "Presenting Information and Results to Senior Decision Makers: Clear and Concise, but Complete." It will be presented by Kirk Michaelson, an adjunct instructor in the Master's of Science in Operations Management program, a program of the Department of Industrial Engineering. Michaelson is a retired U.S. Navy surface warfare officer, government acquisition analyst and Lockheed Martin Fellow.

From Michaelson:

Your manager just assigned you to lead a new project for your vice president. You have many questions! What are the details of the project? What does the VP want to see in briefings? Does the VP have an advocate for pre-briefs? What information is important to include in the presentation? How detailed should the information be? How should the information be presented? Are there any best practices in developing presentations?

In this free webinar, you will learn strategies for sharing important information with key stakeholders in your career — and how to actually get them to listen! A high-level introduction will be presented answering those questions including topics such as:

  • Understanding senior leaders and decision makers
  • Developing the presentation
  • Presentation recommendations

The webinar begins at noon Aug. 29, and is free and open to the public. Space is limited, so register at operations-management.uark.edu/webinar-series.

This free webinar series is presented by the M.S. in Operations Management (M.S.O.M.) and M.S. in Engineering Management (M.S.E.M.) programs at the University of Arkansas.
