Personal training offers a unique opportunity to explore a new dimension of fitness by receiving individualized fitness instruction from a certified University Recreation personal trainer. Personal training services are for UA students, faculty, staff and alumni with a UREC membership.

Personal trainers provide individualized instruction on proper lifting techniques, as well as introduce exercises that target the client's specific goals. Sessions are 60 minutes each and take place in the HPER Building or the UREC Fitness Center located in the Arkansas Union.

UREC Personal Training provides opportunities to schedule sessions as an individual or with a group (two to three people). New clients must initially purchase a starter package which includes an individualized fitness assessment comprising of body composition screening, physiological screening, stability/mobility screening, cardiovascular health screening and strength screening as well as an additional personal training session to begin to implement the programming created from the assessment.

"Personal training packages will lead to greater individual adherence to exercise, as well as provide a more affordable personal training option for our campus members," said Ryan Owen, graduate assistant for fitness/wellness. "Our certified personal trainers are excited to help our clients reach their fitness goals."
