The wait is almost over —tomorrow the bike share company VeoRide will be launching the largest bike share system in Arkansas with 340 bikes and electric assist bikes right here in Fayetteville.

A public launch event will to be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Fulbright Peace Fountain. Chancellor Joe Steinmetz and Mayor Lioneld Jordan are scheduled to speak during a brief program. VeoRide representatives will be on hand to answer questions and offer free access to ride the bikes immediately following the event.

This new system will offer a completely new transportation option for students, faculty, staff and visitors of the University of Arkansas. Biking to classes or events on and off campus will be easier than ever as these dockless bikes may be parked and made available at any public bike rack.

The University of Arkansas, the city of Fayetteville, and Experience Fayetteville have worked together to offer this program at discounted rates for all university affiliates. Anyone with a uark.edu email address can purchase an annual membership with unlimited one-hour rides on the standard 7-speed bikes for just $35.
